Floating Market for Stone

A NEW venture for the Trent & Mersey Canal at Stone is a floating market that will be held over a length of the towpath side of the waterway.

This is being organised by the Roving Canal Traders Association, over the May Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday 2nd to Monday 5th May, with narrowboat stalls selling their wares between 10am and 6pm each day, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Booked in

The boats will be moored between Lime Kiln Lock, that is just down from the railway station and the Whitebridge estate bridge. A number of boats are already booked in for the event.
