Boat fire at Hatton

TWO boaters were taken to hospital after a narrowboat caught fire at Hatton Locks on the Grand Union Canal earlier this week.

It needed three fire appliances to douse the flames, in attendance for two hours. When they arrived at the flight before midnight, the boat was well alight, Roger Fox tells us.

Smoke inhalation

Paramedics also attended, who treated the two for smoke inhalation, then arranged for them to be taken to Warwick Hospital.

One of the boaters was also suffering from superficial burns, with the other also taken to hospital as a precaution.
