THERE is to be just one 'window of opportunity' through Vale Royal Lock on the Weaver Navigation—at 11am Today, Thursday.

Which is rather short notice as this was given yesterday, Wednesday, Keith Gudgin reports.

Requires a replacement actuator

After an inspection it was discovered that the actuator on the lock had failed, so it requires a replacement actuator to get it working again.

The teams are now in the process of ordering the specialist part required, we are told and whilst this is taking place there is a limit for boats.

This is a length and height limit allowing only boats with a maximum length of 10.3m that can be allowed through. And a air draught of 3.5m or less, until a replacement actuator is sourced and fitted.
