Another repair in time for Easter

ANOTHER lock repair has been completed in time for the Easter holidays.

The Leeds & Liverpool Canal was closed at Bank Newton Flight on the 23rd February, but is now open, Keith Gudgin reports.

It was an issue with the top side gate on Lock 4, of the flight that was the problem.

But even though updates were given throughout the month it took to repair, it was not told what the actual problem was.

It was later told however on the 18th March that concrete has been poured that day and the team were now investigating and carrying out any repairs needed to the cills.

Whatever that was it has obviously been sorted, as the navigation has now reopened.
