LACK of water on the Liverpool Link is preventing boaters navigating through Stanley Dock.

It is considered by Peel Holdings, that owns the dock, that the water level is currently too low for safe navigation and so are preventing boaters in Liverpool either leaving or others entering from the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Open tomorrow?

There is a possibility however that passage may be allowed tomorrow (Thursday) providing the level can be increased.

The problem has been caused be a failure of a pump supplying the dock, though it is understood that Peel's engineers are working on the problem and hope to get it in action to be able to allow boaters passage through the Stanley Dock.
