LEICESTERSHIRE Police are at present today (Tuesday) searching the Trent with both divers and boats in an attempt to find missing Sawley marina resident Josh Cotton.

Over a dozen officers are combing the river opposite the marina, with five on each side searching around the trees and shrubs growing out of the banks that could harbour a body with others doing the same in a boat.

Intensive searches

Josh Cotton a resident at the marina went missing from the narrowboat The Spirit that is moored on South Bank of Sawley Marina on Friday afternoon the 11th of March, with intensive searches of the marina and its boats revealing nothing.

Two Leicester Police Tactical Support Team vans arrived by the road bridge over the Trent this morning, with its officers slowly walking down each side of the river searching its water, but by noon, when this was published, nothing had been discovered.

A great effort has been made to inform people of the missing Josh, on television, radio and the internet as well as posters around the area, but all in vain, with no sightings reported.

So now, it has obviously been realised that Josh could have drowned in the Trent, hence all the activity around and on the river.
