BEING replaced by a new boat, the Chesterfield Canal Trust's trip Boat John Varley is being offered for sale.

John Varley went into service in 1992 and has undergone several transformations since then, including a 6ft stretch in 2006 and re-bottoming in 2012. It also has a wheelchair lift and a hydraulic drive, and seats 12 passengers.

Both at Festival

The new boat, is currently being fitted out by Tristar Boats having been constructed by Soar Valley Steel Boats, and will arrive in May. Both old and new will be in action at the IWA National Trailboat Festival on 28th and 29th May which the Trust is hosting at Staveley Town Basin.
