THE Worcester & Birmingham Canal is to be closed at Sidbury Lock (3) owing to a large void appearing in the towpath, and it sinking.
Though the lock is not affected, Health & Safety regulations mean that it will be closed to navigation whilst the work to fill the void is undertaken, Keith Gudgin tells us.
Two weeks
This will start on Monday 7th March and take two weeks! Meaning the canal will be closed to navigation at the lock from the 7th March until Friday 16th March.
