THE man's body discovered in the Grand Union Canal at Croxley Green last Tuesday morning has been identified as Paul Harper who was a member of the local boating community.
It appears that Paul committed suicide, causing great distress amongst the community, with many showing sorrow at his untimely death, Patrick Cull tells us.
Well known and respected
He was a great friend to many who are now in shock, he being well known and respected in the community.
Patrick has since spoken to Paul's boat mate and had it confirmed that due to a number of recent deaths in his family Paul was feeling suicidal and decided to take his own life by diving off Croxley Bridge.
His friends are now raising funds to help pay for his funeral at the White Bear Pub in Rickmansworth.
