THE Aire & Calder Navigation that was put out of action by the December floods is still closed to boating.
It is closed between Leeds Lock (1) and Knostrop Lock (3), with Canal & River Trust stating that 'a number of issues have been identified', Keith Gudgin tells us.
Underwater obstacles
With 'underwater obstacles' also being referred to, this means that the pounds will need dredging before the waterway can be re-opened.
There is no intimation when this will take place.
