A WATERWAY is such a danger to boaters that Canal & River Trust have had to issue a warning notice of its dangers of trees and vegetation!
The Eastern channel of the Severn—Lower Parting to Gloucester Dock, we are told, 'is heavily encumbered with trees and other vegetation growing from both banks which obstruct the channel both above and below the water.
Operators of small craft should take into account the risk of entanglement of rigging and masts, the risk of fouling of propeller and rudder and the risk of entrapment of the vessel and crew recovery options when assessing the viability of navigation in the eastern channel'.
Beggars belief
Our Keith Gudgin, telling us of the above, adds—Leaving a waterway to become such a danger to boaters that it needs to put out a notice like this beggars belief.
