Lock open one hour a day

THE flight on the Rushall Canal where a lock beam was broken off will be open just one hour a day between 9am and 10pm for CaRT staff to work the lock for boaters.

The Trust state the beam that was broken last Thursday on Lock 2 was broken off by vandals, and not lack of maintenance, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Includes week-ends

The one hour opening includes the week-end and will remain in force until a new beam can be installed, though no date is given, with the Trust stating:

Fortunately the flight is very quiet with easy alternative routes so hopefully disruption to our customers can be kept to a minimum.
