Boat skipper wanted

Published: Thursday, 19 June 2014

MANCHESTER Cruises are searching for a new skipper to join them in cruising some weekday mornings, Friday and Saturday nights, some weekend mornings if necessary and during the school holidays on the Manchester Ship Canal.

Join us on board Manchester Cruises during our day trips/night trips as we sail with our guests to enjoy the spectacular views of Manchester and on weekend night parties as we take our guests out for a one of a kind party on a boat. The time is around 20 to 30 hours per fortnight split with another skipper.

Happy to train

We are looking for a jovial and outgoing person committed to providing quality service. We would prefer someone who already has the basic ancillary courses already, but then train them in how to handle the vessel and what to do if an emergency was to happen, equally we are happy to train people with experience in handling vessels if necessary. The job is fairly easy, the Ship Canal is fairly quiet and the boat is fairly simple to handle.

You need to be able to get to and from Salford Quays (near The Lowry Shopping Outlet) as our boat docks in this area. The company will provide your sailor uniform accessories (don't panic it's just a shirt and tie with a hat and epaulettes). Starting pay is £8.20 per hour with the opportunity to earn bonuses from ticket sales.

Highly enjoyable

If you have long been searching for work that's highly enjoyable, then hop aboard Manchester Cruises! To apply, please email us with your CV via the Manchester Cruises website (link below) along with a covering letter detailing why you think you are suitable for this role and including any relevant previous experience.
