Whilst having a nosy around on a well know on-line auction site, I came across this postcard of the Boulter's Lock on the Thames, I assume taken in the early Edwardian period looking at the clothes being worn, writes Connie Dee.
I was so pleased I wasn't working the locks that day! Health & Safety and CaRT would be having a dicky fit if this was happening nowadays, but I bet every one of those intrepid voyagers went home safe and sound with nothing more than muddy sleeves and perhaps a sunburnt nose.
I hope you enjoy and may consider sharing it with your fellow boaters.
