THE leaking section of the Mon & Brec Canal that has been drained since September has now been repaired and is filling.
Around 520 yards of the waterway at Llangattock has been relined to make it watertight as part of the £1.2m project.
Furore
There was some furore that the contingency fund that is set aside for such as breaches was allocated to this work on the unconnected Mon & Brec instead of the Dutton breach on the Trent & Mersey Canal its failed appeal raising a mere 1% of the target.
It is expected the section will be navigable again later this week.
