Not representative

Having read the negative remarks regarding Inland Waterways Association on various web sites, and with dwindling membership numbers, it must be interesting to be an IWA member at the Canal & River Trust committee meetings, writes Peter Ponting.

CaRT people are reading all this negativity, and must think their lottery numbers have come up. Whilst the IWA are supposed to represent the boating community, they have shot themselves in the foot.

All elected

Okay, they did send out 17,000 emails to members encouraging them to vote for the proposed nominees, and yes, they all were elected.

But now CaRT can laugh at them in committee, knowing full well that nobody supports IWA. That means no-say. So you are not representing boaters.

Simple answer—Resign and try and rebuild the shattered reputation you now have.
