Residential moorings on eBay

IN AN attempt to get the maximum price for its new moorings in Edinburgh Scottish Canals will auction them on eBay.

The two moorings at Leamington Wharf on the Union Canal in the city are the first moorings to be offered this way, with the auction starting next Monday 22nd October and closing at 4pm on Thursday 1st November.

Campaign

The auction of residential moorings is part of the nation-wide campaign launched by Scottish Canals last month to encourage more people to try ‘Living on Water'.

The two moorings at Leamington Wharf are located on a stretch of canal next to the Leamington Lift Bridge and down the towpath from Edinburgh Quay, that has a mix of cafés, restaurants and businesses.

Show boat

To further the interest in living on water, a narrowboat has been refurbished as a show boat at the wharf, where interested people can see what living on a narrowboat entails.

It is expected that the people at Canal & River Trust will be interested in this eBay experiment.
