THERE will be delays this coming week on the Trent & Mersey Canal due to 'essential maintenance'.
Repairs are needed to the washwall at Hoo Mill Lock, shown in Ralph Freeman's photograph, that requires a workboat to be positioned at the downstream lock landing whilst work is undertaken, preventing boat movement.
It is expected that there will be delays to boaters as the workboat will need to be moved to allow passage, with the work expected to take from Monday 30th July until Thursday 2nd August.
