WITH a lack of private funding Stroud District Council is looking for other funding to complete the restoration of the waterway through Stroud.
The council is seeking up to £10m from the Heritage Lottery Fund to complete the six miles through the town after around four miles have been done, Alan Tilbury reveals.
The long term project of course is to connect the Severn to the Thames, with the Brimscombe Port project next on the agenda, that should create jobs as it would make the waterway more attractive to developers.
