Grand Sluice Lock open

AFTER the rainfall and resulting floods the Witham had to be closed, and subsequently no passage through the Grand Sluice Lock in Boston.

The water levels on the river have fallen to a point where it is now possible to navigate through the Grand Sluice Lock safely, with it opened yesterday.

However, there is the warning that care should still be taken as there are still some moderate flows on the river, at low water on the tidal side.
