A COUPLE on their narrowboat taking part in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the Thames have become marooned on the Avon in flood.
Andrew and Wendy Dyke on their narrowboat Lord Toulouse had set off early on their cruise in view of the drought and the various waterway restrictions, but were caught at Tewkesbury when the river rose, Alan Tilbury tells us.
Water situation
Andrew maintains that they will still arrive in London for the rehearsals later this month, it depending on the water situation as to whether they take the Grand Union Canal or Oxford Canal down to the Thames.
This is another narrowboat whose crew are having difficulty in reaching the Thames, but this time not through lack of water.
