Still pushing for Northwich Marina

BRITISH Waterways and Bloc are still pushing for the regeneration of the existing Northwich Marina, to create an extra 40 berths, despite opposition.

It is stated the proposals will improve the river frontage by allowing pedestrian access along the East bank of the Weaver between Hayhurst and Town swing bridges, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Private sector

However British Waterways is wanting one or more operators from the private sector to manage the new moorings together with the existing dry and wet docks.

As is now the norm, part of the project will include housing, a food store and café, with completion expected next year.
