An open invitation for thieves

MANY boaters with 'end of garden' moorings who are away on their boats leave an open invitation to thieves that their houses are empty.

They leave such as 'Slow Down', 'Moored Craft' signs and such like, Geoff Smith points out, telling all and sundry that they are away, with Geoff remarking they might as well write burglars an invitation to thieve from their property while they're gone.

Remove all traces

It would be sensible, Geoff reminds boat owners again, for them to remove all traces that they have left their houses uninhabited, especially when doing so for long periods, and so take away such signs that can easily be seen from both land and water.
