A BOATER drowned at British Waterways' Glasson Basin Marina on the Lancaster Canal yesterday (Tuesday).

Mrs De Looze lived on a boat with her husband Morris, and was found face down in the water near her boat by the police, who gave the woman CPR after they pulled her from the water, but were unsuccessful in their attempt, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Fallen in

The emergency services were called to the marina very early in the morning, around 5am, when the body was discovered, and it is believed the woman, stated to be in her 60's had fallen in.

The marina is also a sea port, with a mixture of boats being berthed.
