THE Buckingham Canal Society will be holding an exhibition at Cosgrove village hall to display some of the restoration work it has undertaken along the disused canal.

The society has been recently working with British Waterways as part of the Iron Trunk refurbishment as well as undertaking other improvement works, including clearing vegetation along the bed of the old canal in preparation for re-watering that part of the canal when water becomes available after the current drought.

Grants and fundraising

The restoration work is being entirely financed through grants and fundraising. In addition, non-monetary support is being received from several organisations including South Northamptonshire Council and British Waterways.

The exhibition will be open from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday 22nd April 2012 at Cosgrove village hall.
