Sanitary station victory

IT WAS  a victory for boaters and groups at March on the Middle Level after persuading Fenland District Council to keep a sanitary station open.

A combined assault by local boaters groups, local shops and pubs (who feared a loss of passing trade) has won this battle for now, writes Kelvin Alexander-Duggan.

Counter attack

The council has retreated, but may be regrouping for a counter attack. Some of the councillors are keen on following another example, and charge for use of the moorings in March.

Local boater groups remain ever watchful on the plans of Fenland District Council.
