More cash for Driffield

THE outgoing mayor, Paul Rounding, has raised £7,700 towards the restoration of the Driffield Canal whilst in office.
The 11 miles canal once linked Driffield to the Humber, and the aim is to eventually restore the waterway, making it fully navigable again, with Paul explaining:
"It is a personal ambition to see boats cruising the canal again, and I'm delighted to have raised so much money. The canal restoration has gone in leaps and bounds in the past ten years but has reached a bit of a standstill due to lack of funds."
Paul is Chairman of Driffield Navigation Amenities Association that will use the funding for restoration projects, in collaboration with Driffield Navigation Trust.
