A TOWPATH attack, not by a canal but the River Great Ouse at Bedford, when three Asian youths attacked two men walking by the river.

This was late Tuesday evening 29th March, and the two men were attacked with one youth wielding a claw hammer, and one of the men being pushed into the river, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Pulled out

The other man managed to get away and get help, so that the one in the river could be pulled out. Both men needed hospital treatment for the injuries inflicted by the youths.

The Asians were described as being teenagers, with the police now appealing for witnesses.
