Llangollen Canal marina support

THE group behind the proposed marina at Trevor on the Llangollen Canal has been busy furthering its plans.

The plan, as previously outlined in narrowboatworld, is for an extension to the waterway at Trevor to Cefn Mawr to a new 60 berths marina on the site of an old factory.

Collecting support

It was back in June of last year that the Plas Kynaston Canal and Marina Group officially submitted the plans, hoping they would  be included in the authority's forthcoming local development plan. In the interim period it has been collecting support for its scheme.

Dave Metcalfe, of the Plas Kynaston Canal and Marina Group, tells that the support has been 'overwhelming', and he has received around 1,350 letters is favour of the marina. Eventually the planning inspectorate for Wales will consider whether the marina plan can form part of the local development plan.
