ITV have stated that questions have been asked about the failure of the Olympics being 'green' by moving thousands of tonnes  of material a day by barge.

Questions have been raised about London's boast that the 2012 Olympics would be the 'greenest' ever, Roger Fox has discovered. The picture shows the 'White Elephant' of Prescott Lock, suitably with an empty barge, that cost a colossal £21 millions, backed by British Waterways, yet being virtually unused.

A trickle

ITV stated: 'A sizeable proportion of the Games' massive budget has been spent dredging waterways, to help move materials to the Olympic site. The plan was for up to a thousand tonnes a day to go by barge. But the amount of business so far is only a trickle compared with what was promised'.
