A NEW boat, The Three Shires, arrived at the Grantham Canal on the 28th April, and  was gently lowered into the water.

Invited guests then boarded the boat for its very first trip along the restored section of the Grantham  Canal from Denton to Woolsthorpe.

The costs of the boat were sponsored by major donations from Tony Wilkinson, Chairman of the Grantham Canal Partnership, and the Lincolnshire Waterways Partnership. Other individuals responded to a website appeal raising over £5,000 towards the costs of transport and crane hire and equipping of the boat.
