NAVIGATIONS ARE STILL BEING CLOSED through lack of water.
The Rochdale Canal is closed, Keith Gudgin reports.
The pounds between Lock 5 and Lock 7 have insufficient water so unfortunately is unable to be reopened.
The padlocks are being left until the water level recovers enough to allow navigation. The team is checking at the end of the days.
Kennet & Avon Canal
Froxfield Lock 69 is closed due to low water levels preventing navigation.
However, it is hoped that the situation is improved by the weekend to allow the lock to be reopened.
Open
It is expected that there will sufficient water to reopen the Grand Union Canal where it is presently closed.
This is between Camp Hill Top Lock (52) Knowle Top Lock (51). This is following the recent rainfall and an improvement in water levels.
It is expected to reopen on Friday morning.
