THE SUSPENSION OF THE 14 days movement of continuous cruisers will take place on the 1st of October.

Allowed until 15th October

But boaters will be allowed until the 15th October to commence their movement, after which boat sighting will again recommence, with Canal & River Trust stating that while water levels across the network are beginning to recover, there are still water-saving restrictions and closures in place in some areas, so check your route before you travel.

There is no need to contact the trust if you are unable to move because of an active stoppage as the trust will take these into account when looking at movement patterns.

Be water-conscious

Needless to state the trust is asking everyone to be water-conscious when using locks: sharing where possible and shutting the paddles afterwards. If you notice unusually low water levels, you are asked to let the trust know using its online contact form.

If you have a disability, access needs, or are otherwise experiencing difficulties because of drought-related restrictions, you are asked to contact on 0303 040 4040.
