BOATERS, BUSINESSES AND CAMPAIGNERS have complained to the BBC about the continuous closures of the Erewash Canal.

They are calling for more to be done after the Erewash Canal 'has faced leaking locks, low water levels, repeated closures and a lack of maintenance'.

Affecting

The  Erewash Canal Association told the BBC that closures were affecting wildlife, businesses and boaters and were asking for better communication from the Canal & River Trust.

Already this month the Erewash has been closed by low water on the 6th, then the stoppage was further extended on the same day. It was then closed on the 9th and is presently closed since the 18th due to low water.

The people certainly have reason to complain.
