A POUND ON THE KENNET & AVON CANAL is closed again due to low water.
This is the pound between Little Bedwyn Lock 67 and Oakhill Down Lock 68, Keith Gudgin reports.
The trust advising yesterday, Friday, it is due to low water levels, that the pound is closed to navigation to allow water levels to recover.
It then goes on to state:
Deliberate misuse of lock
It has been identified that there has been deliberate misuse of the lock, which has contributed to the current situation and has necessitated the closure of the navigation. Â Please ensure that all local instructions are followed and that all paddles are fully lowered and correctly seated after use.
Failure to do so may result in further closures being required.
