A FALLEN TREE ON THE Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal has stopped navigation.
This is near Bridge 6, Keith Gudgin reports.
It happened Friday morning with Canal & River Trust explaining it will be subject to review on the 17th July—a week's time.
Narrow canals
Though a narrow canal and connected to narrow canals, Canal & River Trust tell 'the navigation is restricted between Bridge 5A and Bridge 6 on the Middlewich Branch due to a fallen tree.
Navigation remains open to narrowboats, however, wide beam vessels will not be able to pass'.
But the waterway being narrow, there is little likelihood of wide beam vessels passing through the narrow locks!
