THE LICHFIELD & HATHERTON CANALS Restoration Trust has installed a new lift bridge.
This is over the canal at Gallows Reach and will eventually continue to give a right of way over the waterway when eventually the canal is re-watered.
Right of way established
It will remain in the lowered position until the waterway there is finally restored, as a right of way, that has already been established.
When restored it can of course be raised to allow boats through.
It was manufactured by ProMack Ltd and is a steel structure, and so should last for many decades.
This of course is all part of the restoration of the waterway.
