THERE WERE TWO STOPPAGES ON THE Huddersfield Narrow caused by shortages of water.

One reopened late yesterday, Thursday, Keith Gudgin reports.

We are told the operations team have been working very hard on the pounds from Lock 8E to Lock 24E due to boater error, but not told what error.

Only that the team has had to refill the affected areas and make existing boats safe. This occurred during the 6th June.

Another stoppage

Another stoppage through lack of water was on the long pound at Lock 14E, leaving it too low to navigate.

Being such a large pound this will take some while to fill. But a possibility of it being reopened for this coming weekend.
