THE DUCK RACES ARE TO RETURN to Hebden Bridge on Easter Monday.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge, Janet Friend reports.
Duck tickets are on sale now from www.hebdenbridgeduckrace.uk with two races during the day.
There will be Business Race at 3pm when larger various coloured ducks bought and named by individuals or businesses at £10 each.
Down the canal
They will then race each other down the Rochdale Canal in the centre of Hebden Bridge for Holiday Vouchers totalling £800.
This to be followed by the main race at 3.15pm when smaller yellow ducks bought for £1 each, race to win their owners a £500 Holiday Voucher and cash prizes totalling £650. It is now considered to be the biggest duck race in the country.
Later in the year Hebden Bridge Vintage Weekend is set to return on August 1st and 2nd at Calder Holmes Park with predominantly classic vehicles on display on the Saturday and veteran and vintage on the Sunday, both with live entertainment, a food court and 40 stalls selling a variety of goods.
