It is a Finnish inventor who has constructed a solar-powered boat that will never need fuel, he building it himself and did it in around six months, calling himself the solar man.
Everything driven by solar power
His 35ft boat has everything driven by solar power, the roof of his boat being solar panels producing up to 6kW.
This will handle all his requirements of normal living, helped with an an array of batteries to store the power when not needed.
His boat achieves speeds of around 7 knots in good sunlight, using a small outboard. A little too fast for our waterways and a little too wide for our narrow canals, so he uses it on the Continent. Image Instagram/lukas.seaman.
