THERE WERE TWO STOPPAGES on the Grand Union Canal yesterday, Wednesday.

Foxton Locks 026One is a regular stoppage, Keith Gudgin reports.

This is Foxton Swingbridge (4) on the Market Harborough Arm of the Grand Union Canal.

It is currently closed due to a mechanical issue. Yet as can be seen it is a hand operated bridge.

But it was last out of order on the 27th December. Photograph by the late Alan Tilbury.

It is told by the trust that they are working to repair this as soon as possible.

Grand Union South

Lock 64 on the Grand Union South is currently not working.

This it is told is because of an issue with an offside paddle, with the lock out of action until a repair is undertaken.
