A THE SECTION OF THE Oxford Canal from Claydon Top Lock to Aynho Weir has been reopened for navigation.
This is the latest of the many waterway closures to be reopened that had been closed since July, when it was closed due to low water levels.
With Canal & River Trust explaining:
"Thanks to the dedicated work of our operational team on the Oxford Canal, we have managed to keep all vessels in water during this challenging period.
"We are delighted that we have been able to get boaters back on the move, however we continue to monitor local reservoir levels after the exceptionally dry spring and summer."
However the Oxford Canal will remain closed at Somerton Deep Lock 34 and Dashwood Lock 37 (pictured) for planned winter works.
