THE BAR LANE SWING BRIDGE (97) on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal was closed on Monday 12th.
This was owing to a mechanical fault, Keith Gudgin reports.
Engineers were scheduled to inspect and repair the bridge on Tuesday, and quickly discovered the problem.
Back working
With the result that they were able to get the bridge quickly back in working condition.
It being repaired the same day, with the navigation now open.
