THE OPENING OF Kilby Lock 30 to Foxton Top Lock 38 completes the opening of the Leicester Section of the Grand Union.
As Watford Flight is already opened, Keith Gudgin reports.
This has of course been brought about by the recent heavy rain that is filling the reservoirs supplying the navigation.
Monitor the situation
However, Canal & River Trust are continuing to monitor the situation and may need to take action to close parts of the Leicester Section again.
And possibly at short notice, should further rainfall not be forthcoming and thus the water from the reservoirs not being available.
