THE TOP LANE LIFT BRIDGE on the New Junction Canal is none operational again.
This is due to a fault with its barriers, Keith Gudgin reports.
We are told however that contractors will be on site today in an effort to undertake a repair. The bridge (pictured) is down in its road traffic position and therefore unusable for boaters.
Kennet & Avon Canal
The second stoppage is at Seend Lock 19 on the Kennet & Avon Canal caused it is told by a boating incident, though no particulars are given, but at least boaters are not being blamed.
The operations team are on site assessing the situation so that a method of repair can be formulated.
Another problem is with Cawood Swing Bridge on the Ouse that is unable to swing, but this is a high bridge that causes no problems to boaters.
