WITH THE BOAT LIFT at Anderton out of operation all year, visitors are now very thin on the ground.
So an attempt is being made to get interest in the Visitor Centre, Simon reports.
This is by inviting people to come and build bird boxes and paint them, with Simon telling 'this is desperate'. To which we can but agree.
It is indeed when all that can be offered is the invitation to 'join us to paint and decorate your own bird box'.
Everything supplied
The people at the centre actually supplying a pre-made bird box with all the materials needed to decorate in your own style.
This is being undertaken in a marquee on the grounds, and once the bird box is painted those taking part can take it home, though not told how much either the activity to decorate the the box or the box itself will cost.
Anyone wanting to take part must book in advance.
