Sunken boat blocks Fossdyke Navigation

YESTERDAY, Wednesday, there was notice of a sunken boat blocking the Fossdyke Navigation.

With Canal & River Trust informing that the navigation is closed, Keith Gudgin reports.

The sunken boat has been abandoned in the navigation near Saxilby Village.

The craft was originally afloat, but has slowly sunk after being abandoned, until it was completely submerged.

The trust is hoping to be able to move it and then secure it to allow boats to pass.

It will then be cordoned-off and signed to warn boaters.

Boaters are asked not to proceed along this section, until the abandoned craft has been secured.
