That was the Willow Tree Tea Room—that was!
—A VERY FIRM favourite with visitors and residents alike, us included, at Mercia Marina, was the Willow Tree Tea Room.
But the picture shows it now. A bit of a mess!
But not to worry for when the new extensive Promenade is completed, it will be back in its same place.
In the meantime a new tea room is open just away from the site near the actual Mercia Marina gates.
Well prepared
It is somewhat larger than previously, and situated were there is ample car parking. The move was very quick, with the new tea room (pictured) being well prepared for the move.
It was a popular destination for walkers and cyclists, with walkers able to go over the bridge into the marina from the Trent & Mersey towpath and cyclists able to simply ride in from the roads.
Other visitors made good use of the old, and now the new tea room, and being by the gates, handy for both boaters and lodge residents.
Eventually when all the building is finished it will be back at its original place but larger.
