Talk on efforts to restore Lichfield and Hatherton canals
THE WORK on the restoration of the Lichfield and Hatherton canals has rather lapsed recently.
But a talk is scheduled for next month on the efforts to continue with the work, Janet Friend reports.
People from the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust have been invited to a talk by the local Lichfield Wildlife Group to discuss the restoration. Last year a stretch of land was donated to the trust by Staffordshire Council.
Future work
Hoping that they will shed some light on the future work that is planned.
The event by Lichfield Wildlife Group is at 7pm on 1st April and held at Wade Street Church and it is stated, will offer an insight into the project and its progression.
Admission is £3.50 or free for under 16s.
The image is of a bridge that will carry the restored canal over the Motorway toll road when eventually completed.
