Further call for volunteers for Grantham Canal restoration

As supporters of the canal we love seeing the progress in its restoration and maintenance, writes Mary.

This is only possible thanks to the support of our members and the work of every one of the volunteers who give so generously of their time..

The members and volunteers are hugely important and one of our methods of expanding the awareness of the canal and our work, and expanding the base of supporters is by having a presence at as many local festivals, fairs and carnivals as possible.

Expand number of volunteers

We are currently looking to expand the number of volunteers that we have available to staff our pop up stalls—usually at weekends. Once set up, the ‘work’ involves chatting to members of the public, telling them about the work we do, promoting membership and recruiting volunteers. Not to mention drinking lots of coffee and eating lots of cake!

The Society is 100% run by volunteers doing a very wide range of roles and you can be assured of a warm welcome.
